A Father's Love     There once was a great inventor, who created a great number of useful things, from tiny, beautifully crafted hair clips to great models of birds that really flew.  As he was very modest, though, few people knew that he was the genius behind the toys and tools they enjoyed, and most thought he was simply the nice old man who lived at the end of the road in a quaint cottage with his children.  As a result, the cottage seldom received visitors, unless it was one of the few who came to ask for his assistance with their own attempts at building one of his creations.      &n A Father's Love

Invisble ChildrenIn my home, I am safe; I am free  The doors are locked; nothing worries me  I can walk safely from school to work  With no threats, just an occasional jerk  I am as secure as can be.   
Not so the children in Northern Uganda   
Caught in the middle of a war  Which seems to have no end  They must worry, from day to day,  If they’ll still be with family and friends.   
Tomorrow might bring a red sunrise  With horrors they should never see  Possibly to meet an untimely demise  As soldiers, something children should never be.

Grad school, whee!

Well, I arrived in Chicago yesterday, and I'm basically moved in to my apartment, had orientation today...and don't start classes till day after Labor Day. I'm really pumped about the other people in my department, though--this should be fun. :)

All the things I have to do, though...set up phone service, find job, find grocery stores, set up internet?...(no, I haven't done that yet, but yes, I am in my apartment on my computer--borrowing someone else's unprotected wireless! Bad me!!!), find out what books I need so I can try to find them cheap online...and basically, I can't do any of this until Monday. Whoopdedoo....think I'll do a lot of bike-riding tomorrow to get familiar with the area. :)

Photoshop: Image>Image Size or Canvas Size. Pretty obvious to figure out what to do at that point. Also, a lower pixels-per-inch wouldn't hurt. Would you like me to drop by sometime to help with that?

Tip: smaller pictures will help a lot, especially if they're not highly detailed (such as the sketches). Takes up a lot less screen space AND doesn't take as long to load. :-)
